HOW WAS IT BORN?
I grew up in Bassano del Grappa, racing bikes from a young age. Years later, working as a barber in London, I got back in the saddle just to move faster between appointments, and ended up rediscovering a passion I thought I'd left behind, one that eventually brought me back to Italy to launch my own line: PALU.
WHAT'S IN THE NAME?
I'm the third generation of barbers in my family: my grandfather was a barber, he taught the trade to my father, who then taught it to me. I never met him as he passed away before I was born. This photo was found by my father among the family's belongings: it's him, my grandfather Alberto, who I was named after. He gave it to me saying I remind him. Apparently, he rode bikes too.
"Palu" is a nickname I've carried since I was a kid... it just stuck, and when I started building bikes, it became the name.
